2. The history of the department

history

The department "Transport, organization of transportation and traffic" is a graduate department, which is associated with the formation and development of higher education in the field of transport in the southern region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since 1994, since its foundation, the department has been headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Tulenov Aidarali Tulenovich, a graduate of the Moscow Automobile and Road Institute. In 2007, the department of "Road Transport" was renamed the department of "Transport and organization of transportation", and since 2010 - "Transport, organization of transportation and traffic". From 2013 to the present, the department has been headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Usen Asylbekovich Usypbayev, who in 2018 was awarded the title of "Best Teacher of the Year".

Currently, the department provides bachelor's degree training in five educational programs, including 6B07130-Transport, transport equipment and technology, 6B07131-Auto repair and branded service, 6B11310-Organization of transportation, movement and operation of transport, 6B11311-Organization of transportation by rail, 6B11312-Transport logistics, and training of masters in educational programs 7M07130-Transport, transport equipment and technologies and 7M07133-Transport logistics. The educational program 6B07130-Transport, transport equipment and technologies was developed for the dual education system in cooperation with T-BUS LLP.

The implementation of educational programs is provided by 13 candidates of technical sciences, 1 Doctor of pedagogical Sciences, 3 professors, 9 associate professors, 4 masters, 6 employers. Among the teachers of the department, the holders of the title "The best university teacher" are: Azhibekov K.Zh.-PhD, associate professor (2014), Pernebekov S.S.-PhD, Professor (2017), Tulenov A.T.-PhD, Professor (2019), Tortbaeva D.R.-K.Associate Professor (2020). S.S. Pernebekov was awarded the medal "Best Researcher-2023" of the Commonwealth of Independent States for his contribution to the development of science and education.

In order to develop cooperation and strengthen ties in the field of education between the university and leading enterprises, in 2009 the department established the CPC on the basis of the Kazykurt station of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, where students get acquainted with advanced methods of labor organization in production and acquire professional experience and skills.

The Department has been maintaining close ties in the field of science and education with higher educational institutions of the near and far abroad for a long time, including Academy of Logistics and Transport (Almaty), L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University (Astana), St. Petersburg State University of Railways of Emperor Alexander I (RF), Ural State University of Railways (RF), Far Eastern State University of Railways (RF), Moscow Automobile and Road State Technical University (RF), Tashkent Automobile and Road Institute (Uzbekistan), Tashkent Institute of Transport Engineers (Uzbekistan), Technical University of Dresden (Germany), Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), University of Economics in Katowice (Poland), Vilnius State University (Lithuania), etc.

The research activity of the department is aimed at researching and improving methods of managing the reliability of machines in operation, research on improving the efficiency of transportation and traffic safety, improving the environmental safety of transport equipment. The staff of the department has published more than a thousand scientific and methodological works in the form of scientific articles, including in the journals of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a non-zero impact factor, CCSON, Scopus, Thomson Reuters, Elsevier and in the journals of the RSCI, as well as in the collections of international conferences in the state, Russian and English languages, there are copyright certificates, patents, monographs, textbooks, electronic textbooks. Every year, the results of scientific research are introduced into production and educational processes. Under the guidance of teachers, students and undergraduates actively participate in conferences at the faculty, university, national and international scientific and technical conferences, are winners of international student Olympiads, have diplomas of I, II degrees, and take prizes.

As part of the academic mobility program, some students studied at the Lublin Technical University (Poland), the Technical University ofBrno (Czech Republic), Vilnius Technical University named after Gedeminas University (Lithuania), Esslingen University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany), Istanbul University of Culture (Turkey).

In order to train specialists in the field of construction and operation of railways and high-speed highways, since 2018, the department has been participating in the international project "Economics, Ecology and Infrastructure of High-speed Railways" (EEIHSR) within the framework of the ERASMUS+ program. The aim of the project is to develop an educational master's program called Economic, Ecology and Infrastructure at High-Speed Railway (EEIHSR). The coordinating university of this project is the Technical University of Dresden (Germany). Graduates of the department are specialists of a wide profile and are in demand in all sectors of transport.
